Tea Towel Apron
Learn to make this apron out of a 18x28 tea towel and a little bit of fabric for the ties, pocket, and optional ruffle.
Class fee includes a prewashed tea towel (black or natural) and the pattern.
Student will be responsible for bringing a fat quarter for the front pocket, 2-3 strips (2.5" wide) for the waist (and neck) ties, and 2 strips (2.5" wide) for the OPTIONAL ruffles.
Skills to be learned:
1. Make a casing
2. Miter seams for the ties and tie construction
3. Gathering ruffles (optional)
Student can also make the small pocket on the bib of the apron or have the bib monogrammed (for a small extra charge)
Things to bring to class:
1. Fat Quarter and 2.5" strips
2. Thread to match tea towel and/or fabric
3. Best Press
4. Machine with 1/4" foot and standard foot
5. Small mat (12x18), rotary cutter, 4.5" square (or other small ruler that has a 45 degree marking) and 12" long ruler (any width)
6. Basic sewing supplies: seam ripper, straight pins
7. Travel iron and mat (optional but helpful)
8. If making the ruffles, you will need a pair of pinking shears or a pinked blade that works with Olfa 45mm cutters.
